DUCATI 749/999 Tail Tidy
(including relocating the number plate light)

1. Undo the four button head screws which retain the original hanger.

2. Undo the two nuts which hold the number plate light.
 

3. You should be left with this.

4. You can also remove this unsightly bracket which is exposed.

5. Remove the two screws from the tail light housing.

 

6. Carefully remove the tail light lens and disconnect the the terminals. Remove the cable but leave the cable grommet in place and plug the hole.

7. Remove the screw from the side of the number plate light.
 

8. Pull apart to reveal the bulb and terminals. You can unplug the spade connectors.

9. You will see that the clear plastic window from the number plate light housing can replace the plastic blank shown above.

10. Disconnect and remove terminals and fit them into the new position.

11. Insert the bulb.
 

12. The new bracket is mounted onto these two screws which also hold the tail light housing.

13. Position the new bracket as above using the new screws provided.

14. Fix your number plate on (small ones look better) and stand back and admire your handy work.
